Paul Meyer, attorney and professional engineer, is a founding partner of Hammargren & Meyer, P.A., where he practices in the areas of construction law and litigation, surety law, alternative dispute resolution, and mechanic’s liens and bonds. Paul received his Bachelor of Science degree with highest distinction and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.  He received his juris doctor cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law.  Paul has practiced construction law for over 26 years, representing contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, owners, sureties and others involved in the construction industry.  He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in Minnesota and North Dakota, and the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals.  Paul is actively involved in construction industry organizations, such as the Associated General Contractors and Minnesota Utility Contractors Association, has authored numerous seminar materials and articles for contractor and construction organizations, was recognized on the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 Minnesota Super Lawyers® lists, and is a member of national bar associations and the construction law section of the Minnesota State Bar Association.

 

Paul is also a registered professional engineer and worked as a consulting engineer for 10 years prior to commencing his law practice.  He designed, prepared plans and specifications for, and performed construction administration for civil engineering projects, including sanitary sewer and water utilities, street and highway construction, storm sewer and hydrology, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.
